A little bit about me.
My name is Mckenna Causey and I am 17 years old. Volunteering and raising money for others is something I am quite familiar with. It all started when for my 9th birthday I asked my friends for money instead of presents. I wanted to buy sleeping bags for the homeless. By the end of the party, I had more than $250 in donations. It snowballed and I was able to raise more than $2700 for others. For Halloween, less than a month after my birthday, instead of going trick or treating for candy, I asked for food for the food bank. When December rolled around, that same year, I cut my hair 13 inches for cancer. I helped collect mitts and hats for the homeless, worked at a food shelter and the next summer I raised $92.47 holding a lemonade stand, all proceeds going to the homeless project of course, that we named Mckenna's project. Over the years I have raised money for Make a Wish Foundation and volunteered junior coaching a ringette team. Giving to others is not new to me, and my new challenge is to raise 12 thousand dollars for the pediatric and NICU units of the Red Deer Regional Hospital. My hobbies are playing sports and reading. I am a normal girl with a big heart who decided to try and make a difference. So please, let's work together and help others!
